- Raised Runner Intake Manifold Base

This second design box-style aluminum intake manifold is designed for raised runner V6/90? cylinder heads. It has larger inlet runners and a bigger plenum than the first design manifold described above. An air gap beneath the runners insulates the intake charge from engine heat. This second design manifold will clear a large diameter H.E.I. distributor. The manifold cover's carburetor mounting flange fits standard flange and 4500-type four-barrel carburetors. The carb pad is undrilled to allow the carburetor to be mounted sideways or with its float bowls at the front and rear of the engine. This cross-ram intake manifold is recommended for all maximum-effort V6/90? competition engines equipped with raised runner Chevrolet cylinder heads. Technical Notes: An aluminum plate should be mounted between the runner entries for optimum performance; see the Chevy Power manual for information.
