CNC-machined for consistency, this 10 degree tool steel retainer features light weight, exceptional strength and wear characteristics. Fits engines with a 1.095" OD spring such as our 26120, 26981, 26918,26986 and 26995 springs.
Comp Cams valve spring retainers are a must have when upgrading your valvetrain. Valve springs with larger diameters and higher spring pressures will require new retainers. Comp Cams standard steel retainers are made from 4140 chromemoly and have a black oxide finish. Perfect for hot street/strip applications. Their tool steel retainers are approximately 33% lighter than standard steel and 2-4 grams heavier than titanium. When upgrading from steel to titanium retainers, you gain speed and power because titanium is lighter and stronger. Titanium retainers are race proven for engines turning 10,000 RPM.
