The Gen III Engine Crank Socket is specially designed to help rotate the crankshaft via the oil pump drive, using a 1-inch drive socket system. This uniquely designed tool attaches to the oil pump drive and incorporates a knurled retaining nut that holds your degree wheel in place when degreeing your camshaft. The COMP crankshaft socket for GM LS GEN III/IV is the last crankshaft socket that you'll need. Featuring a 1/2" drive socket and a knurled nut, our socket is designed for use with a degree wheel.
When slipped on the end of a crankshaft, these specially designed 1/2" drive sockets allow you to rotate the engine assembly. These sockets also provide a great way to attach a degree wheel (Part number 249-4790 or 249-4791-1) to the engine. The unique design incorporates a knurled retaining nut that sandwiches the degree wheel and holds it in place.
