- Simply mount a solenoid behind an existing forward-pattern gate-style shifter and it will automatically complete one shift cycle at your selected RPM. Besides improving ET consistency, a solenoid shifter allows you to keep both hands on the steering wheel to focus on winning. There are only two moving parts making shifting more reliable and consistent. These solenoid shifters work with standard ignitions. Solenoid shifters SS2 and SS4 do not include an RPM Switch module, but SS2RPM does. The RPM Switch can run any RPM-activated device, and it features push-button thumbwheels and built-in delay.
