The Dorman TO86455XL front outer tie rod end is a direct-fit replacement for 1986-2007 Ford Sable, Freestar, Taurus, Windstar, 1986-2007 Mercury Monterey, Sable & 1988-1994 Lincoln Continental. It links the steering rack or center link to the steering knuckle, so every steering input passes through this joint. A worn tie rod end shows up as loose or wandering steering, a clunk over bumps and feathered tire wear; replacing it restores a solid connection between the steering system and the wheel. It is built with a steel housing and a powder coated finish.
