- The rated Duty Cycle refers to the amount of welding that can be done within a specific time.
- Eastwood MP140i has a duty cycle of 30% at 90 Amps.
- Welding time can be viewed in blocks of 10 minutes, with the duty cycle being a percentage of that block.
- At 90 Amps with a 30% duty cycle, you can weld for 3 minutes within a 10-minute block, followed by 7 minutes of cooling.
- If the duty cycle is exceeded, the welder will automatically shut off, but the fan will continue running to cool the components.
- Once a safe temperature is reached, the welder output will automatically switch back on.
- To increase the duty cycle, reduce the voltage output control.
