Flex-a-lite fan spacer adapters convert a variety of hub pilot diameters to a standard 5/8-inch pilot, and they provide the required spacing from the radiator. Our fan spacer adapters have a large bearing surface and are machined to a soft radius. This reduces point-loading, which is the most common cause of stress cracking on the fan center star. This is why we require that a Flex-a-lite spacer adapter is used with our fans. Flex-a-lite fan spacer adapters are machined from aluminum.
Flex-A-Lite Fan Spacers and Adapters allow you to remove an original equipment fan clutch from your engine and add a direct drive flex fan. They allow you to adjust your new fan to within 3/4" to 1" from the radiator's surface where a belt driven fan works best and center the fan to the "sweet spot" in the fan shroud opening. Always measure twice and check the clearances in your engine compartment to select the spacer(s) you need accordingly. Multiple spacers may be used, up to a maximum of 3".
