LS engines came from the factory with only one bolt attaching the oil pump pickup tube to the oil pump. A common occurrence on an engine build is an improperly seated or pinched o-ring caused by uneven clamp load. If the o-ring does not form a proper seal, the oil pump can suck up air causing oil starvation resulting in a drop in oil pressure. ICT Billet manufactures a girdle to lessen the chances of sealing issues caused from uneven clamp loads. By supporting the pickup tube with two bolts instead of just one, the clamping force is even on both sides of the pickup tube. At an economical price, this is a low cost security for an engine build.
