Note:

This master cylinder features a small equalization opening in the reservoir divider as part of its intended design. The opening allows both reservoir chambers to be filled from one side and helps the brake fluid level equalize when the reservoir is adequately filled. Because the opening is positioned above the bottom of the divider, each chamber can still retain a separate supply of brake fluid if the fluid level drops due to a loss in one hydraulic circuit.
