Standard shims cannot handle the extreme pressure that high performance racing engines place on the springs. The solution to this problem is seats made from a high-strength steel alloy that hold the spring in place. The cup version of the seat sits outside of the spring and requires the head to be machined, while the locators fit on the inside of the spring and require no machining.Available single or dual, these valve springs are formed from chrome silicon wire & finished using a cutting-edge heat treatment. This advanced heat-set takes the load loss out of the springs during manufacturing (instead of their first use) to extend spring life and ease break-in. The springs offer excellent fatigue resistance & load loss characteristics ideally suited to oval track or drag racing.
