This plate is often used when converting to an electric pump. Many of Meziere pump designs are not able to completely enclose the original water chamber in the cast aluminum timing covers such as is found in the late model Hemi application. This back plate uses the factory molded gasket to seal up the timing cover and successfully complete your water pump installation.
