Several driveline joints on these vehicles were assembled with formed-in-place silicone instead of a cut gasket, and the service procedure calls for the same thing going back together. Using a hardware store sealer on a transmission case is how comebacks happen, since not every silicone holds up to hot ATF or gear lube. This is the black RTV built to the Chrysler material spec for those joints.
