Ordinary RTV softens and lets go when it sits in automatic transmission fluid, which is why the factory calls out a specific formula for pans and covers that see ATF. This one is built to keep its adhesion in that environment. Note the restriction before you reach for it, because the newer transmissions use a different sealing method and this material is not approved for them.

Application and Cautions:
