On these Jeeps the cooling fan runs through a resistor in a short jumper harness, and when that resistor cooks the fan loses a speed or stops responding altogether. The usual symptoms are creeping temperatures in traffic and weak air conditioning at idle, with no trouble found at the fan itself.
