W9 and W9 Raised Port aluminum cylinder heads are wedge style race heads that fit 48º tappet bore race blocks (i.e. A8, A4, R3, and R4 Race Blocks). These heads have two extra head bolts around each cylinder for better head gasket sealing, and use the standard Mopar 5-bolt style valve cover bolt pattern. These heads are normally used with T&D rocker arms. The three water outlets on each head are used with AN O-Ring style Radiused Pump Fittings. W9 Raised Port heads are normally used in 410 C.I. sprint cars and USAC style midget race engines. W9 heads are used in drag racing, late models, sprint cars, and midget racing engines. Sprint cars and midgets use Engler or Kinsler intake systems w/ mechanical fuel injection. Drag racing and late model racing engines use standard V8 style carburetor intake manifolds (i.e. 312-P4876162 or 312-P4532598). Sold individually.

If you're building a high-output small block Mopar and want serious airflow, durability, and race-winning potential, the Mopar Performance W9 Aluminum Cylinder Heads are engineered to deliver. These heads bring advanced features that make them a favorite among drag racers, late model teams, sprint cars, and high-end street builds alike.
The W9 heads are a premium aluminum design built for 48-degree tappet-bore race blocks (such as A8, A4, R3, or R4). They feature a 15-degree valve angle (some versions are 13° raised-port), a CNC-machined 62cc combustion chamber, and intake ports that flow approximately 290 cfm as cast. This level of flow makes them a powerful match for big stroker builds, especially for those who want to extract as much power as possible from their cylinder heads.
Every head includes enhancements for sealing integrity—extra head bolts per cylinder—and water-routing upgrades with three coolant outlets machined to accept AN-style fittings. These build-ready heads, sold bare (without seats/guides depending on version), give you the flexibility to match valve sizes, springs, and other hardware to suit your camshaft profile and power goals.
These are not entry-level heads; they shine in high RPM, high load, high demand scenarios—when you need reliability and performance under pressure. Whether you want a w9 engine build that takes you deep into the 7000-rpm zone or are looking for serious torque to haul at higher displacement, these w9 mopar heads give you a foundation that’s both race proven and tuned for major gains. Get them in your cart and set up your build for real power.
