    GM LS timing covers have no dowel pins, so nothing holds the cover concentric to the crankshaft while you bolt it up. Get it a fraction off centre and the damper seal weeps for the life of the engine. This tool locates the cover on the crank snout first, so the seal runs true.

    Mr. Gasket LSTC1 GM LS Timing Cover Alignment Tool Features:

    • Front cover alignment tool for GM LS series engines.
    • Centers the cover on the crankshaft centerline to avoid seal leaks.
    • Can also be used to install the front seal by lightly tapping the tool with a rubber mallet.
    • Used with no seal fitted in the front cover.
    • Plastic construction with O-rings.
    • Apply motor oil to the O-rings before use to avoid damaging them.
    • Sold individually.

      • These special alignment tools by Mr. Gasket help correct the alignment to the centerline of the crankshaft when installing the front or rear cover on GM LS engines. These tools are made from plastic and allow an easy way to install the front damper and rear main seals correctly to avoid leaks.
