    Compact, and Easy-to-Use

The G2X, a GPS-based data acquisitions system, evolved from years of use in various motorsports. Its small antenna obtains data (lap/segment times, track mapping, speed, etc.) while lateral and accel g-forces are provided from internally-mounted accelerometers and RPM and other inputs come from external sensors. Click here for more info.

To install, mount the data logger on the dash, connect power, and secure the antenna on top of the vehicle. The G2X saves data to a 128MB Compact Flash card for downloading to a PC for review, and analysis is performed using Racepak's Datalink II software. The display allows you to set the start/finish area while on the track, providing immediate access to vital data, and the memory enables you to recreate a GPS-plotted track map and assign the desired start/finish and segment markers for accurate timing data. This "virtual reality" track is saved on the software, and maps can be recalled to compare lap and segment times from various test/race sessions.
