Not only does the MC-3produce high-output sparks,but it also fires the spark plugmultiple times to ensure combustionand prevent plug fouling.Unlike the stock ignition whichfires the plug only once on thecombustion stroke, the MC-3 usesstate-of-the-art digital technologyto deliver a series of hot multiplesparks at low speed where poor fuelatomization occurs. This envelope ofsparks (up to 10 at idle) quickens starting,smooths out the idle and improvesoff-line throttle response.

A high speed RISC microprocessor accurately keeps tabson the rpm, rev limits and timing of the ignition. The MC-3accepts trigger signals from the stock ignition so you canretain the factory ignition curve, or for racing applications,Hall-effect pickups can also be used. The MC-3 Ignition canbe used on single, two or 4-cylinder motorcycles using singleor dual output coils with points or amplifier triggering.

Two-Step Soft-Touch Rev Control

The MC-3 features MSD's accurate rev limiter. By settingan rpm limit you can protect the engine from over-rev damagedue to missed shifts or broken drivetrain. The rpm limitis adjusted with plug-in modules and the MC-3 is suppliedwith a 10,000, 11,000 and 12,000 RPM Module.Not only can you set an over-rev rpm limit, there is alsoa feature that allows you to select a second rev limit! Thisis great to activate on the starting line to hold the rpm at asteady level. This will help keep your holeshots consistentand quick.

Air Shifter Ignition Interrupt

This feature produces smooth, backfire-free shifts withautomated air shifters. By wiring this circuit to the shifter,the ignition output is momentarily disabled whenever theshifter is activated. This safely unloads the transmissionfor lightning quick shifts with no backfires!

Built-In LED

The MC-3 makes it convenient to time your enginewith a built-in LED on the side. When a triggering eventoccurs, the LED lights up - perfect for static timingyour engine plus it is helpful in troubleshooting.
