A cap and rotor are maintenance items, not permanent parts. Carbon tracking inside the cap and a worn rotor tip both bleed off spark energy long before the engine actually misfires, which is why they should be replaced together as a set. This kit covers GM HEI distributors and includes both pieces so nothing is left mismatched.

MSD 8416 Distributor Cap and Rotor Kit Features:

• Fits 1975-1990 GM HEI distributor applications.
• Screw-on rotor attachment type.
• Red cap with matching rotor.
• Supplied as a complete cap and rotor kit.
