Coyote engines built after February 23, 2016 use a different coil arrangement than the earlier cars, so an older 2-Step will not plug in. This module is the version for those later builds. It holds the engine at a set rpm while the activation switch is closed, which is what makes burnouts and launches repeatable instead of guesswork.

MSD 87311 2-Step Launch Control Module Features:

• For 5.0L Coyote powered Fords built on or after February 23, 2016.
• Plugs into the factory coil connectors for a simple installation.
• Holds the engine at a constant rpm when activated.
• Launch rpm is easily set for consistent holeshots.
• Will not fit direct injected 5.0L Coyote engines.
