The new Retro Torque Flathead starter was designed with factory looks, but packs the torque and reliability of a modern gear reduction starter.

The original Flathead design pulled the pinion gear into the ring gear while the Retro Torque pushes the pinion into the ring gear. Not only does this reduce the travel and improve engagement on the untouched side of the ring gear, it is also more efficient for the pinon gear to retract.
