Chrome over die cast aluminum gives a deeper, flatter reflection than chrome over stamped steel, because the casting has no press marks to telegraph through the plating. The raised emblem sits on a recessed black field so it reads clearly against the chrome, and the mould gives 3 in. of internal clearance for a roller rocker setup.
