Sonnax planetary gears are a big step up from standard case-hardened and tempered gears. Each gear set includes a flanged sun gear and a ring gear. The flange is machined from a billet, not a stamped piece. It is broached and matched to the sun gear for a precise press fit that does not require welding.

Planetary assemblies come in various configurations for different build requirements. The output shaft is available in the OE-length or short length and has a drum flange tooth profile which is 12-tooth (OE) or 24-tooth (fits Sonnax's 10-clutch drum). Units are fully assembled with a rear sun gear bearing upgrade and OE or steel-backed, PTFE-coated thrust washers.
