The Toyo Tires Proxes RA1 D.O.T Competition Radial Tires feature an internal structure with an advanced competition modified radial construction for accelerating quickly onto the straightaways and driving hard through the corners. The soft but durable "R" racing compound improves grip for better competitive handling performance and is also tolerant to repeated heat cycles. This compound is molded into a symmetric stepped tread design that features limited voids for improved dry traction and the groove arrangement assists with wet traction. Tread depth indicators allow for more accurate measurement where the tire wears quickest near the shoulders. When new the full 8/32'' of tread depth provides good competitive wet traction, while shaving to reduced tread depths increases direct contact with the track to improve dry traction. For full competition only use shaving to 4/32'' will cause the lateral grooves to disappear improving dry traction, and when worn or scuffed to 3/32'' only two central circumferential grooves will remain to deliver the best dry performance.
