Low Range's 1.6L Samurai engine conversion kit stands out above all other designs. We made sure that our kit provides a perfect alignment of the transmission input shaft. Using our 3D Scanning technology, we were able to correctly identify shaft centers to prevent bearing and shaft wear caused by misalignment. We use factory style rubber mounts. Kits touting aftermarket polyurethane mounts sound high tech. But aftermarket bushings are nowhere as good as OEM transfercase mounts. Suzuki mounts keep vibrations to a minimum. We recommend replacing your old mounts with a new set of Heavy-Duty OEM Style Mounts.

This is just the engine adapter plate and mounting hardware (no engine mounts or engine mount adapters are available in this kit). You will have to fabricate your own motor mounts with this kit.

No body lift should be needed for16V Engines with minor trimming on the throttle cable bracket and intake tube supports. 1.6L 8V engines however, will need either a 1" Body Lift (Available at Low Range Off-Road) or minor hood clearancing. Alternatively, 1.6L 8V engines can be equipped with our 1.3L Carb to 1.6L 8V Fuel Injected Air Intake Adapter (SEU-AIA).

You will need a complete 1600cc Sidekick or Tracker engine. Make sure you have the following parts with your donor 1.6L:

• Starter
• Alternator
• Coil
• Air Cleaner
• Exhaust Manifold
• Head pipe

You can use your 1.3L intake manifold to run the stock carburetor on a 1.6L. To maintain fuel injection you will need the following:

• Engine Wiring Harness
• Everything attached to the harness
• Under dash wiring harness
• ECM (computer)
• Instrument Cluster
• Air cleaner assembly
• Grab the catalytic converter if you can.

The donor vehicle's wiring harness will need to be modified for use in the Samurai. The Samurai speedometer will need to be fitted with a speed sensor from the donor vehicle.
