Each transmission fluid pan is application specific and styled with either a finned or a plain bottom. Extra capacity transmission fluid pans are available and will need a deeper pickup (sold separately). The extra fluid these pans accommodate also allows torque converters to lock up better with some added horsepower. Even when towing, the extra capacity transmission fluid pans improve the transmissions efficiency when the pressure is turned up.
