The Smart Port's drive-by-wire friendly staging technology works with the vehicle's standard mapping to maximize the performance of the valve to deliver the best results for the car, giving you the response of a plumb-back valve, with the high performance benefits of a vent-to-atmosphere valve - a welcome improvement in a vehicle with such massive performance out of the box. The Smart Port's piston is made from aerospace alloy with a military-spec coating, reducing its weight and friction, resulting in improved valve response and durability. With faster response and better sealing, the Smart Port allows quicker spool-up and better performance on the drive-by-wire GT-R, while reducing damaging compressor surge.

The Type 5 series is Turbosmart's most popular range. The Type 5 valve has been designed for high flow and performance. Type 5 valves are well suited for both street vehicles and race machines. Made from tough and durable billet aluminum and including many innovative features like the billet V-band clamp for fast and reliable installation. Features:

Clever modular design - all Type 5 blow-off valves are simple to take apart and modify. Want to turn your vent-to-atmosphere blow-off valve into a plumb back valve? It can be done in a matter of minutes! Trumpets can be unscrewed and swapped for blanking plugs and hose fitting, or back the other way. Likewise inlet flanges, hose fittings and vee-band fittings, are all interchangeable.
Precision machining and assembly - the piston and valve body are measured to mere fractions of a millimeter, and perfectly matched to fit each other exactly. Because of this precision, an o-ring is not needed to create a seal.
A range of vehicle specific applications including WRX, STI, EVO, GT-R, MPS (MazdaSpeed3), and more.

The Type 5 is available in three different styles:
Supersonic - Full time vent-to-atmosphere. A full atmospheric BOV for racers and serious enthusiasts who want to be noticed. Supersonic provides a superior flow performance with the famous supersonic sound.
Dual Port - Half vent-to-atmosphere, half recirculating, offers multiple easy to change configurations. The best of both worlds. Also, The Dual Port can be configured as a Supersonic, Megasonic, Plumb Back or Dual Port making it Turbosmart's most versatile BOV. So the Dual Port can essentially be Four BOVs in ONE!
Plumb Back - Full time recirculating. A quiet alternative to the atmospheric BOV, the Plumb Back systems vents all excess pressure back into the intake system.
