Motor Mount

Connecting your vehicle's engine to the frame and chassis are the motor mounts. These components are designed to be strong enough to secure the motor while also absorbing vibration that can transfer to the chassis and be felt by the driver and passengers. In racing applications, solid motor mounts are often used for a more secure connection with no flex, ideally directing more energy to the drivetrain from the engine. In many V8 applications, there are two components that secure an engine on each side. The first is the frame mount, which is bolted to the chassis. The second is the motor mount, which is attached to the engine. When the engine is lowered into place, bolts or pins are lined up and lock the engine and frame mounts together, securing the connection. Motor mount inserts or cushions, made from rubber or polyurethane, can be located on either the frame or motor mount to dampen vibration. Over time, these materials can degrade, loosen, or break, requiring replacement.

Next, from the compatible motor mount options remaining, choose the mounts that meet your application needs and budget. For custom engine setups and swaps, confirm the engine block type as well as the year, make, and model of the vehicle chassis.
