Traction Bar
An automotive traction bar is a suspension component that is designed to limit the movement of the vehicle's rear axle, reducing wheel hop and improving traction during acceleration. The traction bar typically consists of a steel bar or tube that is mounted between the vehicle's rear axle and the frame or chassis. The function of the traction bar is to prevent the rear axle from "squatting" under hard acceleration, which can cause the tires to lose traction and result in wheel hop or spin. By limiting the movement of the rear axle, the traction bar helps to improve traction and stability, allowing the vehicle to accelerate more efficiently and with better control. Traction bars are commonly used in high-performance vehicles or in vehicles that are used for racing or off-road applications.
