Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade for my First Gen Camaro Bought the 800130 steering box to convert my 1967 Camaro to power steering. Drivability and road feel are excellent. I love the feel and control that this using provides. I used an original GM power steering pump with full pressure output. At speed, the steering feel is excellent, almost like the manual box. Around corners, the slightly faster ratio makes turns like a modern car. It's a dream in the parking lot. My car has wider tires which made the original manual steering almost unbearable during parking. The slight dampening effect also makes the car seem to ride quieter and smoother by reducing road bumps to the steering wheel. I used the Borgenson rag joint half also. It seems a bit heavier than the original, but that did not cause any issues. Very happy with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes old car steering feel modern I had rebuilt the front end on my 68 Cadillac. All new bushings, balljoints etc. Steering was still loose and excessively easy. I have used quick ratio boxes and before and was happy to find Borgeson had one for the cadillac. Now car tracks straight and has the stiffer feel of a modern box. The only complaints I have are the flare adapters supplied did not seem correct. They were much too small on the press in side,They just fell out.. Borgeson tech support claimed they were correct. I used ones I had from another vendor that fit correctly. The steering wheel also was about 30 degrees off when I first installed. That could have been my fault but I wonder if the keying on the box was different from factory

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has that sports car steering feel Best upgrade I have made yet. Easy install, tight responsive feel. Should have done it years ago. Borgsen rag joint was a bit pricey but you got to have it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good The installation was smooth. The box works as described. It was easier to reconnect the pitman arm than it looked. Now we'll see how long it lasts. Hopefully will never have to change it again.

I have a 1967 Pontiac Tempest. The Frame and stock steering box have 3 mounting bolts. This box has 4. Do I need to add a new mounting tab on my frame. or is it OK to mount with just 3 bolts? Is there a different part # I should have ordered?

    Asked by: Doug67
You should be able to use the 3 mounting holes for this steering box.
