9012 - Powermaster Powermax PLUS Starters is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very powerful Works extremely well. Installation is relatively easy. Instructions are easy to follow. Take your time, especially if this starter replacing a different style of starter. Check all clearances and shim accordingly. I was fortunate, I didn't need any shims and removed end clearance shims from the starter. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the clock positions. It has three positions and only two are usable. The last position towards the engine block is unusable because the starter solenoid has zero clearance at engine block in that position. If the bolt hole pattern would have been a half of a hole away from the engine block it would have been perfect. I have about 5/8" clearance from solenoid signal wire or "S" terminal to header. I installed heat shield sleeves and everything seems to be good. I installed this starter on a 396 BBC in a 1982 Chevy truck. You may have more clearance on another application.
