It is for good reason why virtually all pushrod-style engines manufactured for over two decades are equipped with hydraulic roller cams. The roller's ability to open and close the valves more quickly facilitates the design of more sophisticated camshaft profiles, while the hydraulic lifter body eliminates the need to constantly set valve lash. They have an exceptionally "flat" power curve and are a popular retrofit into older engines.
