The best roll bar padding depends on the application in which it will be used. For racing purposes, specific roll bar padding, often with a SFI rating, is required. Roll bar padding with a SFI rating will meet or exceed quality standards and testing to that rating. All roll bar padding offered by JEGS through vendors is made from high quality materials and assembly.

The first thing to confirm when installing roll bar padding is where it is required. The rulebook for the racing you will be participating in will define the areas it must be installed. In most cases, roll bar padding is necessary anywhere that the driver's knees, elbows, and head could make contact with the roll cage. Next mock the roll bar padding pieces in place and cut with a hacksaw to the lengths required for each piece of the roll cage. If the roll bar padding has self-adhesive on the backside, remove the cover strips. Next, place the roll bar padding in place and press it against the bar to help with adhesion from the tape (if equipped). Finally, use zip ties to hold the padding in place.

The best tool for cutting roll bar padding is a hacksaw due to the small teeth in the hacksaw blade design, which results in a cleaner cut. A sharp blade can be used, however, higher density foam may required a lot of effort to cut through it.
