Rated 5 out of 5 by from crate 290hp I have installed 2 of these in the last month one in customers car and one in my own truck. Both have worked out extremely nice, however engine does not feel as strong as I though it would I am still tuning to get more out of it but does not feel like 100 extra hp over my stock worn 305

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New engines, not rebuilt. Bought first one to put in my boys chevelle, ended up putting in Grandson's pickup. Bought another and put in Boy's chevelle, they love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement engine This engine is a great replacement. It has sufficient power all through the rpm range for a street motor. I have received several compliments on the exhaust note the motor produces through flowmaster mufflers

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a drop-in Installing in an older Corvette. It came with bronze pilot bearing installed and oil dip stick plugs for left and right side in a bag in the valley. Keeping the old stock unvented Vette valve covers was a problem. This block does not have the rear valley vent casting. It was also necessary to drill and tap the 1/4 - 20 hole for the spark plug heat shield in the right rear of the block the other three were correctly drilled and tapped. Shipping was fast only four days.

why is this engine set up to run with the vacuum disconnected to the distributor, will that affect fuel mileage?

    Asked by: George q
You would only disconnect the distributor vacuum line to set the timing on the engine. It should be hooked up otherwise.

Could a stock th350 be used with this engine? And if the torque converter needs to be changed what is a good stall speed?

    Asked by: KrafftC10
Yes, a stock TH350 can be used. The torque converter would only need to be changed if the engine has a different camshaft.

I am looking at replacing the 305 TPI in my 86 IROC Z28 to a new 350, would this engine work or is there a different 350 that would work with keeping the TPI?

    Asked by: Billy113
This engine is not very fuel-injection friendly due to the cam specs. Also your engine has a 1-piece rear main seal so you would need a different flexplate/flywheel and balancer. Any upgrade to a 350 will require some modifications to your TPI, as it is specifically calibrated for use on the 305. It can be done, with a custom chip burned for the combination, possibly some porting at the base of the manifold, different knock sensor, etc but it's definitely not a plug and play installation. The closest engine to this for you would be p/n 059-HP57.

I have a 1927 Roadster which is running a 1987 GM 305 with a weiand 142 blower with a Holley 750 supercharger carb. Would this be the 350 to use ? Will the intake manifold and 350 transmission bolt up ? Will the cam work with the blower.

    Asked by: Bubbamace
You will need to know if this is a 1 piece rear main seal engine or 2 pc rear main seal. This is a 2 piece rear main seal engine. The cam may need to be changed depending on how much boost your are using.
