650 CFM is the size most street small-blocks actually want, where an 800 would be too much carburetor for the displacement and airflow on tap. The AVS2 uses annular flow boosters to atomize fuel more finely at low airflow, which is exactly the condition a smaller engine spends its life in, and the float level can be set without draining the bowls.
