Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved all cranking issues High compression 582 BBC - was getting violent kick back while starting a cold engine with the lightweight version of this battery (which is a great battery too). Nothing like that when I replaced it with this one. It is about 15 pounds heavier than the lightweight version but for me it was worth the peace of mind. I used the lightweight one for another race car with a small block and less compression and it works fine in that application.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last a year! Apparently these things are extremely particular about charging and usage, previous battery lasted 5 years by hooking charger up between rounds. You can’t do that with this, after talking to XS tech , it appears these batteries are a high maintenance battery. Not what I want to be worrying about at the race track. Will buy the battery I had before.

Im running a 14.5:1 compression BBF motor that needs a lot of cold cranking amps.  Is this battety sufficient at 675 CA for my application?  Im currently running a 12V 1050 CCA battery to start it and it struggles after there's heat in the engine.

    Asked by: Greg 557ci
This battery should have sufficient capacity to turn your engine over, assuming the starter is in good shape.
