Convert Your GM F-Body into a Manual Steering Platform
In drag racing, many vehicles have manual steering conversions to remove the excess weight of power steering. The old way of swapping the rack & pinion manual steering front end on a drag car was to use a Pinto front end. On the fourth generation F-body, the problem is that the upper A-arm pivot points are 2" wider than the inner tie rod pivot points on the Pinto front end. This can cause serious instability and damage.
