Installation Instructions for CP-2212G Small Block Ford V8 Engine Swap Kit for 1941-1948 Ford Car and Ford Pickup Truck using Chassis Engineering Bolt-on Pinto/Mustang Front IFS
Note: use center-sump type (Bronco) oil pan.
1. Install new Chassis Engineering IFS crossmember using the instructions supplied with the kit. If original steering bracket hasn't been removed yet, do so now.
2. Fit the frame adapters, as required, using the specifications. Remove any rivet heads that interfere with mount placement. (grind flush with frame).
3. Make sure mounts are straight, level and exactly 19" center to center. Double-check all measurements, drill mounting holes and install.
4. Bolt engine mounts to your block and install engine.
Installer is responsible for final fit. Generally frame mount will clear IFS without issues. Install cushion set as shown at bottom right of page.
5. Drill bolt holes through frame mounts. Install and tighten bolts. (note top and bottom holes are different sizes). Access hole on inside of mount will match frame access holes in most cases, but there are many different frame variations. Work with the bolt access your particular frame has.
