Small-Block Chevy Head Gasket for Gen I V8 with 18/32-Degree Heads
Cometic C5269-032 Head Gasket
Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Gaskets are designed to provide the best seal for naturally aspirated, boosted, or nitrous-fed engines. The head gasket is made from three layers of spring stainless steel, offering a stronger base material than standard head gaskets. Viton-coated outer layers create a superior seal not available with other steel or copper gaskets. MLS Cylinder Head Gaskets reduce bore distortion, resist corrosive substances, and have excellent rebound qualities.
Cometic C5269-032 Head Gasket Features:
- Made from spring stainless steel for strong corrosion resistance
- .001 in. thick Viton rubber is bonded to the outer layers of the gaskets
- Designed to withstand extreme cylinder pressures without requiring machining for the installation of a locking wire
Cometic C5269-032 Head Gasket Notes:
- Not designed for use on engines with O-rings or receiver grooves
- Always refer to the fastener manufacturer to determine accurate torque values
- A surface finish of 50 RA (roughness average) or finer is recommended for proper gasket seal
- Cometic Cylinder Head Gaskets go on dry because they're coated with a sealant (adding another sealer can hinder gasket performance)
Cometic Multilayer Steel (MLS) Gaskets are designed to provide the best possible seal for naturally-aspirated, boosted, or nitrous-fed engines. The head gaskets are made from 3-5 layers of spring stainless steel, offering a stronger base material than standard cylinder head gaskets. The outer layers are Viton-coated stainless steel to create a superior seal not available with other steel or copper gaskets. The gaskets have excellent rebound characteristics and are made to resist corrosive substances. MLS head gaskets reduce bore distortion but still withstand extreme cylinder pressures. Sold individually.
