The new C7 Corvette is plagued with cooling issues that occur during prolonged high performance driving. There are a couple engineering issues that cause the oil to reach a temperature high enough to trigger the engine control computer to go into "limp mode", limiting the power output until the temperature drops to a safe level. Both kits are developed to combat oil cooler heat soak and make your Corvette more reliable every time you drive it and especially under racing conditions when you need it the most.

186-010488K uses the DEI Oil Cooler Line Heat Shroud and DEI Titanium Catalytic Converter Heat Shield to reduce oil temps by addressing the fact that the oil cooler lines run in very close proximity to the catalytic convertor. This kit is great for a daily driver that is occasionally driven at high speeds for short periods of time.
186-010488K1 uses both heat shields above plus expands the focus onto the lack of efficiency of the factory cooling system by adding a Chevrolet Performance Secondary Radiator. The oil cooler uses engine coolant to disperse the oil heat and the factory radiator is simply not large enough to overcome the increased temperatures of both systems under prolonged high performance driving situations.
