This is a component, not a complete intake. On the two-piece Performer RPM manifold the upper plenum is what carries the throttle body and distributes air to the runners, and it is the piece most likely to be damaged, cracked or lost during a swap. Buying it separately saves replacing an otherwise good lower manifold.
