JEGS 555-601078 Flexplate Safety Shield

A flexplate safety shield is mandatory in many classes and types of racing, such as NHRA, IHRA, and IMCA. The shield fits over the front of the transmission bellhousing and bolts to the engine. These shields are designed to protect both the racer and spectators from the effects of a flexplate or starter ring gear failure.

JEGS 555-601078 Flexplate Safety Shield Notes:

• Trimming of the transmission may be required, and any modification to the shield will void the SFI certification
• Flexplate shields are required to be inspected every 5 years by the certifying manufacturer for certification. When a shield is determined to be acceptable for continued service,  a new conforming label marked with the inspection date shall be attached to the shield
