A stock cast flywheel can only take so much clutch abuse before it starts to show heat cracks or an out-of-round friction surface. This McLeod billet steel flywheel gives late-model Mustang owners a stronger, SFI-rated replacement built for repeated street and track use.
McLeod 463458 Clutch Flywheel Features:
- Fits 1996-2004 Ford Mustang 4.6L and 2011-2017 Ford Mustang 3.7L/5.0L engines.
- Does not include the 2012-up GT/Boss 302 9-bolt pressure plate pattern.
- CNC-machined from billet alloy steel.
- 164-tooth 1045 hardened steel ring gear.
- 8-bolt crankshaft-to-flywheel bolt pattern.
- SFI 1.1 approved at 19 lb of rotating weight.
- Works with diaphragm-style pressure plates.
The McLeod steel flywheel is perfect for street applications where easy stop light acceleration is desired and for off road or rock crawling. Steel flywheels come in various weights and and dimensions. For race applications, a heavier steel unit is ideal for helping launch a heavy car with a smaller engine with less torque and horsepower.
