Drive shaft lubricant kits exist because the grease used at a shaft joint is specified to that joint, not interchangeable with chassis grease. Using the wrong product at a CV or slip joint either washes out or hardens, and either way the joint starts making noise. The kit supplies what the service procedure calls for in the correct quantity.
