This gasket seals the exhaust manifold flange where it meets the cylinder head on the 3.6L Pentastar V6. When it burns through you get a ticking or hissing that is loudest on a cold start, exhaust smell in the engine bay, and often an oxygen sensor code as unmetered air enters the stream. It is a cheap part that should always be replaced whenever the manifold comes off.
