This kit supplies the SAE 75W-85 synthetic GL-5 lubricant specified for the front drive shaft and axle on trucks built with the 10.5 in. front axle. Axle size and ratio matter here because the shaft and joints differ between axle packages, and so does the fluid specification. Using the correct viscosity is what keeps a joint from drying out and starting to click on turns.
