Bracket and heads-up racers need timing and rev control that can be dialed in for each run rather than set once and left alone. This capacitive discharge ignition is programmed from a PC, holding timing accuracy to better than a tenth of a degree while managing separate burnout, launch and overrev limits, three cumulative step retards, and per-cylinder timing when a cam sync sensor is fitted.

MSD 7530T Programmable Digital-7 Ignition Control Features:

• Capacitive discharge design charges to 520-535 volts so full coil energy is available even at high rpm.
• High speed RISC microcontroller maintains timing accuracy to better than 0.1 degree and plus or minus 2 rpm.
• Three programmable rev limits in 100 rpm increments: burnout, launch and max speed, with the launch limit taking priority.
• Launch rev limit adjustable from 2,000 to 12,500 rpm.
• Three step retards are cumulative to a maximum of 30 degrees.
• Start retard adjustable from 0 to 25 degrees, active below 500 rpm and off above 800 rpm.
• Launch retard ramp programmable from 0 to 15 degrees over 0 to 2.5 seconds.
• Timed safety rev limit ramps the engine down for a safe shutdown.
• Individual cylinder timing when used with a cam sync sensor.
• Traction Control Detection circuit monitors the magnetic pickup for signal tampering.
• Reverse polarity protection and an LED that flashes diagnostic trouble codes.
• Multiple spark series lasts 21 degrees of crankshaft rotation, becoming a single spark above 3,300 rpm.
