When a 6 or 7 Series ignition is triggered through its white wire or points terminal, many voltage-triggered tachometers and fuel injection systems will not read correctly off the ignition tach output. This adapter conditions that signal so the gauge or ECU sees what it expects, which is the usual fix for a tach that reads erratically or not at all after an ignition upgrade.
