Reproduction gas-charged liftgate support strut for models with rear window wiper, rear defogger, rear spoiler and rear window shade. This is the heavy-duty gas strut designed for the heaviest of rear decklids. Features a heavy-gauge steel body, temperature compensation module valve for consistent operation in extreme weather conditions, and rubber O-ring seal to prevent fluid leakage around the piston.

Specially engineered upper bushings provide an eaxct fit and ensure a longer life. Hardened chrome-plated piston rod is precision ground and highly polished for excellent corrosion resistance and leak-free sealing. Originally referred to in GM books as the "yellow stripe" version. Features approximately 157 lbs. of force. Fits left or right hand side. Sold individually.

Designed for vehicles originally equipped with electric rear defogger C49, but will work on vehicles without optional defrost. Replaces GM part #'s 16604427, 16604428, 16604429, 16604431, 16604432.
