The Spohn Performance Mountain Goat Series rear tailgate reinforcement kit reinforces the rear tailgate on your Jeep® JK Wrangler to handle the additional stresses and loads incurred when mounting up to a 35 in. spare tire onto the rear tailgate.
The Mountain Goat Series rear tailgate reinforcement kit supplies you with four (4) CNC laser cut 11 gauge steel reinforcement plates that have threaded nuts TIG welded in place. These plates replace the flimsy spot welded nuts that the factory spare tire carrier bolts thread into on the inside of the rear tailgate.
The reinforcement plates spread the load over a much larger surface area which adds strength and durability to the rear tailgate to handle an oversized spare tire's (up to 35 in.) additional stresses on the street and on the trail.
The kit is an easy 100% bolt on installation with the use of basic hand tools. It comes powder coated gloss black for optimum corrosion protection and a brilliant and durable finish. All required mounting hardware is included.
